June 13-14 2025 will mark the 5th Anniversary of Lilla By Festivalen and the plans are starting to shape up with announcements coming soon.
Lilla By Festivalen is an amazing music festival held in Rinkaby, Sweden. It’s a celebration of music, family, and community, set amidst the beautiful Swedish countryside. The festival has been running for several years and has become a beloved event in the region. In 2025, Lilla By Festivalen will celebrate its 5-year anniversary with a brand-new festival experience, featuring a lineup of exciting artists and activities for all ages.
Founders and Producers of Lilla By Festivalen Malin Osth and Jonas Tancred, shared their thoughts, “We are incredibly proud of the musical cultural bridges that Lilla By Festivalen has built between Sweden and Canada. It is an honour to promote the exchange of music, culture, and friendship between our countries, and we look forward to continuing to develop this unique partnership in 2025 to continue to grow and strengthen the bonds between Canada and Sweden with further development of your home away from home, the Kanada Barn.”
Lilla By Festivalen 2024 welcomed 17 Canadians, both industry professionals and artists to attend this event. Two winners of the Music in Motion Canada (MiMc) competition were also invited to perform, Nick Hedden and CJ Cooper created a great buzz and new fans were found. Bad Skin from Quebec were featured as well as legendary Canadian performers Don Graham and Lisa Hartt. Barb Keck, founder and president of Music in Motion Canada says, “This will be the second year (2025) that we will have a presence at Lilla By Festivalen so stay tuned for the announcements coming from in January. MiMc Music Awards – Music in Motion Canada
Three years ago, the organizers refurbished an old barn on the beautiful, sprawling farmland. They named it the Kanada Barn and gave Canada the honour of having our Canadian flag placed permanently on the stage backdrop. The plans for 2025 to continue the performances and attendees from Canada will start to be announced in the new year.
Sandy Graham, a long-time colleague and music partner at EMG Collectives, will be assuming the role of Associate Producer of the Kanada Barn. Given the title by the government of Cultural Music Ambassador, Sandy had this to say about the past and the future, “Malin, Jonas and I actually met in Newfoundland (of all places) years ago while they were performing at a festival there as Bara Jonson and Free. Our lifelong friendship was immediate and over the years we have worked together both in Sweden and France. When they decided 5 years ago to create Lilla By Festivalen, they had my immediate support as it was a natural fit to continue to build our ‘musical bridges’ between our two countries. Although I have been attending and assisting for a few years, it is an honour to be given the title and responsibility as the Associate Producer of the Kanada Barn. Year 5 is going to be amazing and I can’t wait for us to announce the next entourage to attend this great festival than makes it all about the music.”
