Guests Who doesn’t love taking a trip down memory lane and reminiscing? If you think back to your youth, there were probably many iconic figures who made a huge impact on you, and wouldn’t it be cool to learn more about what made them tick?

If so, you’re in for a real treat as the 30-year veteran of radio, Jeff Sammut brings you his newly created podcast called, “Remembering with Jeff Sammut”. He unlocks all the behind-the-scenes stories of your favourite cultural figures with his first episode launching on Thursday, April 13th!

Remembering kicks off this Thursday with Toronto-born host, Jeff Sammut remembering the late, great singer/songwriter and legendary Canadian Rock icon – Gord Downie, the Tragically Hip frontman. This episode will give the listeners an in-depth account of his life and an inside perspective from Gord’s wife, Kaya Usher, who shares many amazing, heartfelt stories.

“Remembering is the podcast dedicated to meaningful conversations with those closely connected with who and what we fondly remember,” says the Sirius XM radio host of Canada Now.” Jeff continues to add, “Guests will walk through conversations, events, venues, years, TV shows, movies, and everything worth remembering. This is the podcast that makes you smile with memories that’ll come flooding back of who or what we are remembering.”

Sammut’s experience and exceptional understanding of what it means to be a strong radio personality who offers humour and curiosity, combined with active listening skills make him the perfect host for Remembering. With nearly 30 years of radio experience, Jeff has worked on all aspects of a radio show from producing, scriptwriting, creative planning and taking the microphone, making him extremely well-equipped to guide you through each guest’s journey.

The Second City Improv Conservatory Program graduate asks in-depth questions to further enhance the conversations throughout each episode: “What was the late singer of The Tragically Hip, Gord Downie, like at home as a husband and father? How was it when Carrie Fisher first walked onto the set of Star Wars? What was it like as a cast member of M*A*S*H to say goodbye to the series? As a close friend of John Lennon’s, what do you think of when you hear his name mentioned?”

Only a select few can answer those questions, and Sammut gets to uncover those truths as he dives into conversations with his respective guests who take the listeners on a journey through those memories.

“I have created a show that I want to listen to. While being a very curious person, my guests invite me to memory lanes that I never thought I’d get to walk down and I’m bringing my listeners with me,” says Sammut.
